Senior portraits

This ending

is just

the beginning

of all

the amazing

things

you’ll do.

Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I am the World Famous-ish Matthew J. Capps, a highly experienced and very skilled, full-time professional photographer. (with an unmatched humility and obvious sense of humor) Although my work has appeared in multiple publications, you may know me as the primary photographer for Loveland Lifestyle Magazine.

If you’re not already familiar with my work, I shoot nearly every style imaginable—from soft and ethereal to hard and gritty, adapting my approach to fit the mood, energy, and concept of each session. My toolbox includes the latest technology, from underwater cameras and drones to 360-degree setups and even a stereoscopic 3D camera rig. This all allows me to capture cutting-edge visuals that push creative boundaries.

Senior portraits

are kind of a big deal.

Senior portraits are more than just a collection of pictures. They are the grand finale of childhood memories. They are a measure of the moment when a child becomes an adult. They are the symbol for everyone who sees them that a new future has begun.

As a senior portrait photographer, my goal is not just to create stunning images but capture a personality and freeze this moment in time so you can cherish the start to what is sure to be an amazing journey.

What to expect

  • The Photographer.

As a photographer, professionalism is my top priority—ensuring a comfortable, respectful, and well-organized experience for every client. With over 30 years of photography experience—nearly 20 of them as a professional—I have mastered the art of light and shadow, ensuring stunning results in any lighting condition. Whether working with natural light, artificial setups, or off-camera flash, I have the skill to shape and control illumination for the perfect mood and composition. My images are always razor-sharp where they should be and beautifully soft where they shouldn’t, bringing out the best in every subject. This precision and expertise have led me to work with businesses, magazines, and online publications, consistently delivering high-quality visuals that meet professional standards. No matter the setting or challenge, I have the technical know-how to create striking, dynamic, and visually compelling images.

  • The Experience.

From clear communication and detailed planning to a safe and creative environment, I make sure every shoot is both enjoyable and efficient. I believe collaboration is at the heart of every great photo and I want to work with you to get images you’ll love and cherish. If you have an idea, I want to hear it! I don’t believe your senior portrait session should be rushed and I don’t believe you should be limited to a certain number of outfit changes or backgrounds. When you hire me to shoot your senior portraits, you get me for the day. We can start at dawn and keep going until you can’t smile anymore!

After your session, you’ll receive a gallery of expertly edited, full resolution images that you can download and use however you like. You’ll never see extra fees for the digital images and you’ll never see high pressure sales pitches. You will see your images in a matter of days, not weeks.

  • The Price.

My Senior Portrait sessions are probably different from most you’ll see. I don’t charge a sitting fee and then tack on additional charges for extra time. You won’t have to pay extra to get the full resolution images. I don’t get you in the door with one price and then tell you “the average family spends” this much higher price. You’ll never see me push you to buy an expensive album or prints. I prefer you know the exact cost up front.

My rate is simply $2,000. For everything.

FAQs

  • Not anymore. I now rent studio space as needed. Don’t worry, it’s included in the price.

  • Absolutely. Prior to your shoot, we will work together to create a basic shot list and itinerary for the day. We can mix and match in studio and on location so you get the best of both worlds.

  • There is almost never a “perfect” day. In most cases we can work around less than ideal weather without needing to reschedule. When it comes to photography, a few clouds are usually better than none.

  • An all day photo session is a marathon. If you think you might need it, bring it.

  • Yes. When you finalize your booking you will be sent an invoice. $500 must be paid up front and is non-refundable. The remaining balance must be settled before your gallery will be delivered.

  • If you need to reschedule, as long as you give me at least 24 hours notice, it usually isn’t a big deal to find another day that works.
